L’Oreal Crushed Foils Metallic Highlighter vs Maybelline Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter

L’Oreal Crushed Foils Metallic Highlighter vs Maybelline Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter

IMG_3048

Hey Dolls,

I haven’t done a ‘comparison/dupe’ post in time so here’s one but including both drugstore brands.

I had thought since they both are described as metallic highlighters, it’d be a good test run and see which one is better. Now if you don’t already know L’Oreal highlighter is out of stock on superdrug’s but I have linked some sites on the L’Oreal Crushed Foils post so make sure you check that out. On the other hand Maybelline’s highlighter is still in stock in Superdrug’s for £7.99.

Product Information :

  • Metallic Highlighters
  • Similar gold hue
  • Maybelline 9g / L’Oreal 5.1g
  • Maybelline £7.99 / L’Oreal (OOS) – Check post for links
  • Same Packaging – L’Oréal’s packaging has flecks of glitter shimmering off the front

IMG_3049

So you can see for yourself, the Maybelline (Left) highlighter looks matte in the pan whereas the L’Oreal (Right) highlighter is more glittery. Well they both perform well as very ‘wet’ looking highlighters. The Maybelline’s highlighter is more of a harder product in the pan but it is soft and buttery when you use it, and it’s more of a glazed highlight which you can build up on. The L’Oreal highlighter has fine glitter flecks but when you put this highlighter on it looks so wet, like as if you used fix plus.

IMG_3050

It’s so weird but in the pan the Maybelline (left) highlighter looks darker but when swatched (top) it’s so much lighter. The L’Oreal (Right) highlighter looks lighter in the pan but when swatched (bottom) it’s a little bit more darker.

Overall :

Well, I think they both are great, so guys if you really want to try the L’Oreal highlighter but can’t seem to get your hands on it, buy the Maybelline one. I know I mentioned in my Maybelline Metallic Highlighter post that I wasn’t impressed, which is still true but I personally prefer the L’Oreal one but an available product that is still in stock kind of wins this battle. Texture wise – L’Oreal highlighter is so much better, by far!

Anyway Dolls,

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, stay tuned for more

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette vs Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette vs Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette

IMG_3075

Hey Dolls,

I have an exciting post for you all. So some of you have been emailing me asking if the MR palette is better than the SG palette, or if they needed both so I thought I’d break it down in to detail and make a post about it.

IMG_3074
MR (Left) SG (Right)

Product Information :

  • Retail £43 – (Beauty Bay, Cult Beauty & ABH)
  • 14 Shades
  • Velvet Packaging
  • Brush Included
  • Good Sized Mirror
  • MR – Warm berry and brown shades / SG – Cool tone browns, warm browns and reds

IMG_3078

Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette :

This palette includes a mix of warmer browns and pops of berry tone colours. This palette has more mattes then it does shimmers which I think is okay, because you can’t use a palette with a lot more shimmers in your crease, so a good amount of matte shades is very reliable. This palette does have shimmers that are quiet light and aren’t really my type of shimmers to be used in the middle part of my eye unless I’m trying to achieve a natural look

  • Tempera : Matte – Light beige
  • Golden Ochre : Matte – muted yellow with olive undertones
  • Vermeer : Shimmer – light pink with frosted sheen
  • Buon Fresco : Matte – muted mauve purple
  • Antique Bronze : Shimmer – dark brown with copper undertone
  • Love Letter : Matte – dark berry
  • Cyprus Umber : Matte – Deep brown
  • Raw Sienna : Matte – light medium brown with warm undertones
  • Burnt Orange : Matte – medium orange
  • Primavera : Shimmer – peachy gold with warm frosted metallic finish
  • Red Ochre : Matte – medium-dark red-brown
  • Venetian Red : Matte – medium red with warmer undertones
  • Warm Taupe : Matte – medium taupe brown
  • Realgar : Matte – medium-dark orange brown with warm undertone

Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette :

This palette includes warm toned and neutrals with a good mix of shimmers and mattes. I actually love the mix of colours in this palette, all the shades go with each other. If you haven’t checked a full review on this palette check that out. This palette is a ‘go-to’ palette you can honestly create so many looks even if your not into a lot of glam eyeshadow, you can do natural looks with this palette.

  • Tempera : Matte – Light beige
  • Glistening : Shimmer – light gold with frosted sheen
  • Orange Soda : Matte – Light orange
  • Rose Pink : Shimmer – medium rosy with warmer undertones
  • Sultry : Shimmer – dark bronze with warmer undertones
  • Bronze : Shimmer – bright gold with warmer undertones
  • Mulberry : Matte – reddish plum
  • Dusty Rose : Matte – muted rosy mauve
  • Fairy : Shimmer – light gold with yellow undertones
  • Burnt Orange : Matte – muted medium orange with warmer undertones
  • Sienna : Matte – medium red-ish brown
  • Rustic : Matte – medium dark brown with warm undertones
  • Cyprus Umber : Matte – dark brown with warmer undertones
  • Noir : Matte – deep black with neutral undertones

Tempera, Cyprus Umber and Burnt Orange are the same shades in both pans. I also swatches Primavera (MR) and Fairy (SG) Because I really thought these matched a lot but Fairy is a little bit more warmer compared to Primavera.

IMG_3073

Do you need both :

Personally.. These two palettes are really different, yes they have similar colours but the overall palette is really different to the other one. So yes, I do think having both in your collection is really good, you can always play around with colours and create so many different shades using all 28 shades, with different tones of oranges, browns, reds, pinks even the shimmers in the SG palette is to die for. I don’t know what it is about the shimmers in this palette but it’s just so good.

Which one do I prefer : MR / SG ?

Now this was really, really hard because as my old viewers should already know, I LOVE THE MR palette but I must say SG has won me over and I cannot put down this palette. I have loads of palettes with loads of colours but for some reason this palette just calls me a lot. The texture of the mattes are different to the MR as well, now I’m not saying MR is a bad palette, it’s just if you want a palette that you can use everyday and actually get a use out of then it’s the SG palette unless you are a person who doesn’t mind wearing reds and pinks every time then deffo go for the MR palette.

The Ultimate Heel Guide – How to choose heel styles and sizes (W/ FSJ)

The Ultimate Heel Guide – How to choose heel styles and sizes (W/ FSJ)

Hey Dolls,

The Ultimate guide to finding the perfect shoe for you, so if you are interested keep on reading. I will be partnering with a shoe brand called FSJ Shoes, where I’ll be going into detail about the different style of shoes that work well with certain people.

Disclaimer : This of course is in no way me trying to tell you that I am a professional but it’s something fun to read and maybe might help certain individuals.

Flats :

https://www.fsjshoes.com/women-s-nude-comfortable-flats-with-tassel-fringe.html

If you are the sort of person who don’t like heels AT ALL! Well flat shoes are always something that is convenient. I, myself will always lean to flats for an everyday wear. Now wearing flats doesn’t always mean be boring and get the plainest shoes ever. You can get a whole range for different occasions from

wsw1906013a

red_comfortable_flats_2

You also have to remember some people actually can’t wear certain type of flat shoes, because of the way their foot is shaped. For example pointy shoes aren’t for everyone as you may have wider feet and it may feel squished.

Wedges :

ws1905060

Wedges are a summer must have! there are so many different type of wedges even for winter but let’s focus on the summer, regarding what you call the English summer, you can still wear cute pumps that are appropriate to the weather conditions.

I think wedges are fantastic, you can wear them with full or mid length skirts. You can also pop on a pair of jeans and finish with beautiful wedge boots.

Wedge boots/sandals are actually a little bit more easier to walk in and comfortable to wear compared to stilettos. They come in range of size, styles and designs so I think you are bound to like something you see.

  • flat wedges – This isn’t totally flat, because then it will lose it’s concept of being a wedge sandal, but it’s much smaller then the other two and more comfortable for people who are just getting into heels

ws1906653

ws190610703_1

women_s_black_and_white_wedge_sandals_grid_printed_ankle_strap_sanldals

High Heels :

ws190522101_1

The higher the heels the longer it’s meant to make your legs look like, but also be warned you may not be able to walk in them properly.

I have been wearing heels for 13 years now, but I always wear them if it’s a special occasion. I had started off with 4 inchs but then I was able to walk in 6 inch heels. Now for me I can’t go higher then that, otherwise I know my legs will snap 😉

You can get a variety of heels, there are so many sizes and styles that will go with everything you wear. Let’s face it, heels just give you this elegance (depending on style of course) but even if you cant wear thin heels there are always block heels to choose from.

Anyway Dolls, I hope you guys enjoyed this little post, I advise everyone for sure to check out this website, they do much more amazing styles of shoes. It’s really descriptive and they have a layout where you can choose either the type of shoe or the height of shoe.

NEW! L’Oréal Crushed Foil Metallic Highlighter (Limited Edition) Review & Swatches

NEW! L’Oréal Crushed Foil Metallic Highlighter (Limited Edition) Review & Swatches

IMG_3045

Hey Dolls,

I don’t know if I should do this post as I can’t find the item now on superdrug’s but I did see it on ebay where people are selling their unused one. I’m really not sure if L’Oreal are planning to bring it back but I’ll just make this a short review and hopefully link some sites at the bottom where you can purchase it.

IMG_3046

Product Information :

  • 2 Shades – Rose Quartz & Glided Glow
  • £8-10
  • Limited Ed
  • 5.1g
  • Metallic Highlighter

So this beautiful highlighter is L’Oréal’s new drop that was limited edition, which is sad because it wasn’t dropped too long ago and then they just stopped dispatching this highlighter, so I’m actually really glad I got my hands on this because it is one of my most drugstore used highlighter.

The colour I had purchased is 20 Glided Glow, there is another colour which is a more champagne shade with flecks of pink in it which I don’t prefer. This colour is gold with sliver flecks of glitter, but when I mean glitter I mean it is really fine yet so popping!

IMG_3047

This product is insanely pigmented and truly lives up to it’s name ‘crushed foil metallic’. When you apply it, it looks so wet on the skin and have I even spoken about the texture – IT IS AMAZING! It’s so soft and so buttery so creamy. I can’t tell you how soft it is under my finger. You do have to be really light-handed with the product because it does pick up a lot.

I had bought mine from Superdrug’s for £8-10 I think, I’m not to sure as I got it about a month ago. But I have linked down some sites that do still sell it, so if you are interested then you can click on the links down below

Overall Thoughts :

I really think this is a beautiful highlighter, and I wish they do come out again in stores or online. If not then brands need to start taking some notes because this highlighter is no joke

NEW! Makeup Revolution Fast Base Foundation Stick

NEW! Makeup Revolution Fast Base Foundation Stick

IMG_3051
Makeup Revolution Fast Base Foundation (F6) – £5 (Superdrug)

Hey Dolls,

Again!! Makeup Revolution has been killing it with their new launches. As some of you may not know, Makeup Revolution is now called ‘Revolution Pro’ so if I keep calling them Makeup revolution, then I apologise.

Revolution has come out with brand new products this month and it’ll be available on 28th March, but by the time this post uploads everyone will already have their hands on the new products, and I hope I get the chance too.

So let’s just get into this product review and we can move on.

Product Information :

IMG_3052

  • 18 Shades
  • Stick Form – 6.2g
  • Medium buildable coverage with a dewy finish
  • Cruelty free/Vegan
  • VERY INEXPENSIVE

I think for a drugstore brand coming out with 18 shades is great especially when you look at the shade range it does have quiet a few shades that are similar but with different undertones.

If you already use the concealer then you’ll know the shade number is similar to the foundation but it’s referred as ‘F’ instead of ‘C’. So I am C5 in the concealer which is a peachy yellow and the foundation I got was the F6 which is a little light for me but has the perfect yellow undertone and I can make it work with some bronzer.

Lastly the packaging!! Revolution has really upped their game on the packaging and yet it is still affordable. Honestly good on you Revolution.

My Thoughts :

At first try it went on really oily on my skin, which for me isn’t a problem as I do have dry skin but even on my dry skin it was looking really oily around my T-Zone so I had to set it. BUT! The bendability on this foundation is bloody INSANE! It just melts into the skin beautifully and leaves a flawless natural base. The build is really good, I usually go in with two layers and that works for me, anymore then that you’ll just look like a slick ball. So YES! for £5.00 I actually do think this foundation is worth it

  • Blends beautifully
  • Dewy
  • Doesn’t cake up

Comparison with the concealer :

IMG_3084

  • Foundation – 18 Shades / Concealer – 18 Shades
  • Foundation – Varity of shades and undertones / Concealer – Varity of shades and undertones
  • Foundation – £5.00 / Concealer – £4.00
  • Foundation – Medium coverage with dewy finish / Concealer – Medium coverage with matte finish

IMG_3085

As you can see for yourself the concealer (LEFT) is more peachy compared to the foundation undertone, but on my skin they work well, if I could maybe get a shade darker in the foundation it’ll work out just fine.

I have tried both of these together and they work really well, it doesn’t budge or crack. These products work well with other items as well. I have once layered another brand concealer on top of this concealer and it didn’t interfere or budge.

My Overall Thoughts :

I really do think you get a LOT more then you pay for. I know a lot of people have been raving about it and there are barely any bad reviews on these products but I honestly think it’s because it actually does work out. Pop into your local Superdrug’s and just test it out and you’ll see for yourself you actually like it.

NEW! Anastasia Beverly Hills ‘Soft Glam’ Review & Swatches

NEW! Anastasia Beverly Hills ‘Soft Glam’ Review & Swatches

IMG_3067

Hey Dolls,

Another NEW product review. As you all should already know, from the beginning of my post’s I always use to mention my ABH MR palette a lot, because I use to use it constantly, but when ABH came out with the Subculture and the Prism palette I wasn’t impressed so I kept on hoping they would come out with something that would catch my eye.. Till they came out with Soft Glam. Now at first when I was seeing the sample photos on Instagram, I didn’t think I would like it but did I regret thinking that when it arrived to me.

IMG_3069

This palette is a warm toned neutral palette which literally says on the back where you can go from day to night looks. Now I like palettes like this where it’s multi useable.

  • 14 Shades
  • 9 Mattes
  • 5 Shimmers (2 Different Shimmers)
  • Same plastic packaging with velvet top
  • Mirror and double sided brush
  • £41 – ABH Website & Beauty Bay

There are some shades that are similar from the MR palette, like for example Tempera, Cyprus Umber and Burnt Orange. But I still believed this palette still had some potential and I was hoping when I used it, it wouldn’t do what the Subculture palette did.

IMG_3068

I really think soft glam looks so pretty even if you think neutral colours are boring, and you may think that now the trend is all these orange/ red eyeshadows but I’m glad another brand came out with something different, as much as I love my warm toned eyeshadow palettes, I think it was time for something new and they played it safe coming out with something neutral.

Soft Glam First Row :

IMG_3070

  • First row – Tempera – Beige – Matte – This shade was a little chalky
  • Second row – Glistening – light gold – Shimmer – this has a frosted finish but it was soft and buttery
  • Third row – Orange Soda – bright warm orange – Matte – applies really beautifully
  • Fourth row – Rose Pink – medium dusky pink with gold reflects – Shimmer – again very buttery
  • Fifth row – Sultry – dark dusky purple – Shimmer – this was quiet loose but the pigment was amazing
  • Sixth row – Bronze – yellow gold – Shimmer – This was loose as well but it was amazing on the eye, it reflected like as if you put loose pigment on your eye
  • Seventh row – Mulberry – true to it’s name – Matte – Very nice soft finish and very well pigmented

Soft Glam Second Row :

IMG_3071

  • First row – Dusty lilac – very grey toned purple but so beautiful – Matte – very well pigmented
  • Second row – Fairy – light warm gold with metallic sheen – Shimmer – looks subtle but the build on this shade is insane
  • Third row – Burnt Orange – medium orange – Matte – very well pigmented, and this orange can be used by it’s self
  • Fourth row – Sienna – medium red brown – matte – very pigmented
  • Fifth row – Rustic – medium brown – matte – very well pigmented
  • Sixth row – Cyprus Umber – dark brown – matte – very pigmented
  • Seventh row – Noir – Black – matte – surprised because this wasn’t chalky and it was really soft

My Overall Thoughts :

Honestly, if you really look at this palette you have everything from different shades of browns, oranges and reds. You even get a cream colour and a black. Like literally this is your ‘go to’ palette, you can create so many looks with this palette. If you only want something natural you can do that too and if you wanted to deepen the look, just take one of the deeper shades and it’ll just do.

I really love this palette and I’m afraid to say but it’s more useable than the MR palette, which isn’t all too bad. If you have both then great you can mix around with the colours – but this palette is insane.

NEW! Anastasia Amrezy Highlighter Review & Swatches

NEW! Anastasia Amrezy Highlighter Review & Swatches

IMG_3058

Hey Dolls,

YAAAAS! I am finally doing a review on the NEW Amrezy Highlighter, if you follow me on my Instagram then you would have already seen a peak of the highlighter. If not, then no worries Dolls, I have you covered with this post.

IMG_3059

If you don’t already know, ABH Amrezy highlighter is a collaboration with US Instagram Influencer Amra Olevic (Amrezy). If you are one of her old followers you would know she had already collaborated with ABH before where she came out with an eyeshadow palette.

IMG_3060

The packaging of this product is BEAUTIFUL! I honestly didn’t expect anything less, because as I’ve mentioned before her other palette packaging was beautiful and unique. This is a sleek black hard packaging with rose gold detailing. It has a good weight and a very lovely mirror! The highlighter retails for £29 on the UK ABH website, and I think it’s launching on Beauty Bay soon. The product itself is in a wave like look, and trust me I thought because of the way it’s shaped it was going to be a problem to apply like some highlighters that are shaped weird but this one applies beautiful!

IMG_3061

The highlight is meant to be a light gold, which is the perfect gold for my skin tone. I know some people have already said that it may not suit very fair skin tones or deeper skin tones, but the build on this highlighter is good, if I put on a lot it would look a little darker on me.

IMG_3062

Initially, I wasn’t going to purchase this highlighter. I just thought you know what I had too many that looked like this highlighter, but honestly it’s Anastasia, and anything they come out with is always worth it. Now this highlighter isn’t like their glow kits, don’t get me wrong the texture is still soft but it’s not like the glow kit’s so buttery and melty.

IMG_3063

As you can see for yourself, it is a fine highlighter but it’s BLINDING AF! It doesn’t have chunky glitters as some highlighters do have, it’s more of a sheen but a opaque type. On the skin it does come up like a light champagne but like I mentioned the more build up you do it does get darker. It’s just so lovely, so pigmented and so soft. I don’t regret buying it, I just wish the price wasn’t so much.

I do prefer a more glazed type of highlighter but if your one who doesn’t, you can still buy this and apply it lightly, as it still gives a natural sheen to your face. But I love the wet look.

IMG_3064

I have used 3 different brushes with this, the Real Techniques setting brush, the Zoeva 134 brush and the Morphe M558 mini detail fan brush and it gave the same results, obviously you will get a lot more product with a denser brush than with a fan brush, but I do like using fan brushes for a subtle highlight.

IMG_3065

I really do love the way this highlighter blends out, it doesn’t accentuate any dry patches or any texture marks. It just blends so nicely into the skin and almost looks like a buffer on top. I am obsessed with this highlighter. Watch me rock this on my holiday soon.

The formula of this highlighter is something else, it’s weightless, buildable and popping. I’m still not sure about it suiting everyone’s skin tone but I do think this highlighter is real high quality. It’s stunning, it lasts for good amount of time and it’s as if during the time my highlighter just looks better, but I think this is because I get oily (in a good way)

This highlighter is also limited edition so if you do think about buying it, be sure to buy it before it goes out of line.

Anyways Dolls, I hope you guys enjoyed this post, stay tuned for my next one
